Purple faced Langur (Semnopithecus vetulus) (ශ්‍රී ලංකා කළු වඳුරා) is an endemic primate of Sri Lanka. They live as family groups. There are four subspecies in the Island. S.p vetulus, S.p. monticola,S.p.nestor and S.p.philibricki. Picture shows a S.p. nestor . According to IUCN these are most endangered primates. This subspecies is found in Western Province of the Island.
